Woodlark Play and Creative Arts Therapy

I work with children and teens to help them navigate difficult times and challenging situations.  Perhaps they have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, or they might be experiencing emotional difficulties, feeling anxious, or finding themselves overwhelmed.  I work alongside families and sometimes schools, to support children's and young people's mental health through relational play and creative arts therapy.

Play is the language of children and as such is an effective, proven way for children to process experiences and emotions. A Play Therapist can facilitate free expression and emotional flow in a safe and secure environment.  Children can explore their feelings and make sense of life experiences without being re-traumatised.  Play Therapists aim to meet the child where they are and accompany them on their journey to better self regulation and improved self esteem.

I also offer Relational Therapy for teens who may also benefit from Play Therapy or Creative Arts Therapy as well as talking.

I work in a holistic, integrated, child-centred way, with awareness of developmental trauma and experience of working with children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences.  I offer a minimum of 12 sessions, or more long term therapy as required.  I also work with children who receive funding from the Adoption Support Fund and am an approved supplier for the Local Authority.  I am an Accredited Play Therapist (PTUK) and therefore regulated by the Professional Standards Authority.  I'm also a Certified Creative Clinical Supervisor. My base is Stroud and Nailsworth and I work in Gloucestershire.
